Burj AlHamam Bistro – Sweets

Dessert photography has a narrower, more delicate colour range than savoury work, which places greater demands on both lighting and post-production. For Burj AlHamam Bistro’s sweets menu in Riyadh, I used directional lighting to bring out glaze, texture and colour detail at their most honest, accuracy at its most flattering, rather than the over-lit, heavily-saturated treatment that makes sweets look artificial. The dessert section of a restaurant’s social presence is often its most effective for engagement, and these photographs were produced with that use case in mind as much as the menu itself.
